  1. That looks like a Cattleya mossiae or jenmanii with a horrendous flopping dorsal sepal. I don't know what is going on with that flower, but the painting would be absolutely divine if the uppermost sepal was up. I've grown cattleyas for 20 years and I've never seen one with a sepal flopping forward and to the side like that. The flower is awful. That said, the painting is absolutely stunning. I have a million orchid photos i could send or you could rip any image from my videos if they are clear enough, but yeah, this is awesome and I hope to be able to paint like you someday. I'd love to see on of a better flower.
