  1. Why the bolders at the right much more bright the the bolders at the left even though they are much closely to us?

    1. gamliel basha in this composition John has the light source coming to the left. This is just the block in stage..no details ...the left side values are lighter then the right side here.

  2. I m sorry but i don't like the way you reflect river bank on water its too much it should be light and in water should be some effects of winds....rest i really like it.

    1. Shalza Ray you do realize this is only part 1 of this painting? Have a little faith, John is a Master Painter. God bless you.

    2. Shalza Ray this is just the block in stage...the underpainting...this is how to start a landscape...establishing the correct values (the lights..darks). No "details," are added...just abstract shapes with correct light and darks.

  3. Hi John, this is an excellent idea of yours. These are the things many people like...things like just a Mountain on its own with all its ridges, rocks and highlights. Individual things like a simple portrait for beginners (it is the real basics that help us the most) or painting a tree (like in your previous videos), or may only a wave. Your Do's & Don't Videos are very helpful.....I love those Do's & Don'ts and I think many people would like more of those as well.....It is in these simple demonstrations that we learn the most as well......THANK YOU! for everything you do and all of the very best to you and the family. Cheers Russell....
