  1. Hi, John. If you remember, I had mentioned that I just finished a painting very similar to this one of yours. A friend commented that it looks so real that she thought it was a photograph. Well, in my opinion a good painting has to show the artist's brush strokes and even those little "imperfections" because these show creativity and passion... and they give the painting its character. Your painting has character. If some people think that a good painting has to look like a photograph... then maybe they should just take pictures, di ba??? Great job!

    1. A good painting can look like a photo, because there is a painting style called "Photorealism". It's not a requirement, due to other styles, such as Impressionism, Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism, which don't look like photos.

  2. Beautiful painting! Thanks for showing us this amazing tutorial! I will attempt to paint this someday soon...

  3. Wow, I really love this one too!! I decided I will paint this one today. And when the underwater full version comes out I will paint that one with you...Thanks John

  4. Thank you so much for this! I went and painted along with you and, despite multiple attempts previously to do a cityscape, while following your tutorial I was able to paint the best cityscape I've done so far! Thank you for doing this in real time, made it easier to follow along 🙂 Salamat from Australia!
